Our Story

Antica Pizzeria Restaurant proudly opened in October of 2008 with one mission; serve the truest of traditional Italian recipes made with the most authentic ingredients available while making sure customers are treated as family at our table.

Mario Rapisarda (Cocco Pazzo, Spiaggia) and Faris Faycurry (Dylan’s Tavern, Villa Nova) combined their 25 years of expertise and created the Andersonville neighborhood’s first ever wood burning pizza oven.

Family and friends tasted the incredible pizza that emerged from the oven until it was perfected.

With everyone content (never satisfied), the Antica staff literally took to the streets with fresh pizzas to spread the word to Chicago that Antica had arrived.

Chicago heard the word and it has been a whirlwind ever since.

Although the wood burning oven attracts many visitors to Antica, it is the variety and depth of authentic food including appetizers, salads, pasta and entrees that keeps visitors coming back for seconds and even thirds.

A proud native of Sicily, Mario serves as chef and he creates regional Italian dishes made from scratch – nothing less will do.

He constantly updates the Antica menu with specials, new flavors and dishes that fit with the seasons.

Antica has made a happy little niche in the Andersonville community.

Come and join us at our table and experience Antica Pizzeria Restaurant.
